Hurraw! Lip Balm | Chai Spice

Hurraw! Balm set out to create the perfect lip balm. Their name comes from the fact they use "raw" ingredients.  I love the high standards Hurraw! holds their products too. Not only are the ingredients healthy, but when creating their product they gave themselves a list of criteria: Super smooth, not draggy, not sticky, not sweet, not too glossy, not too smelly, never grainy, long lasting; plus, it had to hold up to being in a back jeans pocket all day without melting!

Brand Standards: Natural, non-GMO, fair trade, organic, vegan; raw ingredients are purchased from reputable suppliers; supports fair trade organic farmers from the USA and worldwide. (Info from Hurraw! Balm)

I chose three kinds, Chai Spice, Vanilla and Root beer. Today, I'm reviewing the Chai Spice because it is one of my truest obsessions. Stay tuned for the other two flavours in this series!

I find it’s a very smooth lip balm that never leaves a weird after taste. It absorbs well, and doesn’t get gummy or leave weird residue like some lip balm does. It absorbs into my lips and it feels like it actually does something to make my lips healthier, it doesn’t just sit there. I often layer it under lipgloss or over a bit of lipstick to create a lip-stain look.

The packaging is really well thought out and good quality. The tube is rounded, but it’s flat enough that it won’t roll away. It fits well in my pocket, but I usually keep in in my purse. It’s held up well considering I drag it everywhere with me. The label has not peeled off or faded, nor does the container look dirty.

Hurraw! Chai Spice Lip Balm: Ah chai, one of my favourite types of tea. Chai literally has my fave spices combined into one: black pepper, cinnamon, clove, anise, and vanilla. So this was an obvious pick for me. If you have ever wanted to get more out of your tea experience, then I suggest this flavour.

Ingredients: Prunus amygdalus dulcis (sweet almond) oil, ‡Euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, *Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, *Simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, *Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, *Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, organic flavors, Elettaria cardamomum (cardamom) oil, Tocopherols (sunflower) (*organic & cold pressed ‡wildcrafted)
