I picked up two of the three face polish options from Rocky Mountain Soap Co in Vanilla Coconut and Bamboo. These face polishes are in powder form, which means you have to add the “base” to it. I mix them with water, but when my skin needs a deeper cleansing experience, I mix them with cleansing oil. I love to mix them with Rocky Mountain Soap Co’s Rosehip Cleansing Oil!

This was the first time I saw a product like this, and I wasn’t sure what to expect from this powdery goodness, but I think it’s a really smart idea. I have always used the typical face scrub/polish that is already suspended in a base. This gives you way more options since you can choose whatever base you want and customize it. I feel like you get more product because there's no water or base to take up any space.

I also love the packaging! I think it looks really snazzy sitting on my shelf. It was also a lot of fun to photograph (very photogenic). Another plus: these face polishes are microbead free!

A tip I have is to be careful not to let water get in! Water got in my Bamboo face polish, and for a couple days the powder was too wet and wouldn’t shake out.  I keep this on my shelf for the most part, and when it's in the shower I make sure it's sealed properly.

When I use the Vanilla Coconut Revitalizing Face Polish I feel like I am washing my face with dessert. It looks like brown sugar and the smell makes me think of eating funnel cake at a town fair. I wanted a gentle scrub that I could use daily and this fits perfectly into my routine. It keeps my skin smooth plus gives me a clean feeling without drying out my skin. I also use it on my neck and gently on my lips.

Like all Rocky Mountain Soap products, I’m always impressed with their ingredient list, and these face polish’s are no exception. I’m loving the moroccan lava clay.

Ingredients: Moroccan Lava Clay, Bambusa Vulgaris (Bamboo) Stem Powder, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Shell Powder, Vanilla Oil, Coconut Oil

This Bamboo Brightening Face Polish is described as being the most exfoliating option from Rocky Mountain Soap’s Face Polish line. And I can say: yes it is! This polish means business! I got this with the intention of having an intense scrub that I could use once a week to really cleanse my skin and unclog pores. The Bamboo face polish fits into my routine exactly as that. It’s described as being good for normal or oily skin types because it has tea tree and eucalyptus. When I start getting breakouts, rough or dry patches on my skin this is my go-to. It’s a very invigorating scent and you get that lovely tingling sensation on your skin after you use it.

Also loving the ingredients for this one! I love the consistency the cane sugar, green clay and bamboo stem powder creates.

Ingredients: Saccharum Officinarum (Organic Evaporated Cane Sugar)*, Illite (Green Clay), Bambusa Vulgaris (Bamboo) Stem Powder, Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen) Leaf Extract, Mentha Arvensis (Peppermint) Leaf Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Eucalyptus Globules Oil, Salvia Sclarea (Clary Sage) Oil. *Organic

All in all, I would definitely repurchase these face polishes! My bamboo one is half full, but my Vanilla Coconut is empty as of yesterday! I think I will re-order the Vanilla Coconut this coming week. Especially since I want to participate in something they are currently doing: from December 14-24 if you buy a festive gift set Rocky Mountain Soap Co. will donate a bar of soap to a local food bank or shelter. They will donate up to 1 tonne of soap! Find out more about Let's Give A Tonne.
