Rocky Mountain Soap Co. Review | Holiday Haul Part 01: Vanilla Ginger, Vanilla Candy Cane, Vanilla Coconut

You may have seen pictures of this haul on my Instagram! I ordered some old favourites and (now) new favourites online from Rocky Mountain Soap Co. I needed to get another Vanilla Coconut Face Polish since I use it on a daily basis and had used my current one up. It's very satisfying to have an empty container of a product you really enjoyed using.

I also wanted to participate in a fundraiser Rocky was doing. For every festive gift set purchased Rocky would donate a bar of soap between Dec 19-24 with a goal of donating 1 tonne of soap. Read their blog post on it: Let's Give a Tonne!

As for my order, you can tell that I LOVE vanilla since I got: Vanilla Ginger Mini Tray, Vanilla Candy Cane Cake Box, Vanilla Coconut Travel Haircare, Vanilla Coconut Face Polish (see the review on this here!),  and Aloe & Honey Hydrating Face Mask (the only thing without vanilla). And they had a promotion going on that if you spent a certain amount (I think it was CAD$75) you got a free Six Soap Sampler!

Today I'm going to review the Vanilla Ginger Mini Tray, the Vanilla Candy Cane Cake Box and the Vanilla Coconut Haircare Travel Kit. I already reviewed the Vanilla Coconut Face Polish here, and I want to use the Hydrating Face Mask more before I review it (spoiler alert: so far I'm impressed).

The Six Soap Sampler will be in Holiday Haul Part 02! Trust me it deserves it's own post! Six different flavours of soap? I'm in love.

Brand Standards: Toxin Free, 100% Natural, No animal testing, Eco-friendly (their products do not harm natural habitats or aquatic life once down the drain and into the environment)  (Info from RockyMountainSoap.com)

Vanilla Ginger Mini Tray

This is one of Rocky Mountain Soap Co.'s limited release festive scents. I was really excited when I heard about this scent and I had to get my hands on it. Not only does the box have gorgeous cardinals but I love ginger and I love vanilla, so it seemed like a logical choice to get it, right?

Around holiday season so many festive scents are available to us, but when they're packed with artificial fragrance, harsh synthetics and other low quality or unhealthy ingredients, you want to be cautious. With Rocky Mountain Soap Co. you know you are getting all-natural, healthy, toxin-free goodness with lots of options for fun, colourful packaging and lovely scents to choose from.

I wanted to order the Cake Box size of this scent, but it was sold out, so I opted for the next size which is the mini tray. The products are similar, just no bath salt and a smaller piece of soap. I'm really happy with the scent, it's warm and spicy and SO yummy. You can mostly smell ginger but the vanilla adds a sweetness to it. Are you sure I can't eat it?

This gift set comes with a mini body butter, a lip butter and a bar of soap. I currently use Rocky's body butter in Vanilla Candy Cane (I have a full size from last year) and I also have a mini Vanilla Coconut that I keep by my sink. Like all their body butters the Vanilla Ginger is very moisturizing and easy to apply since it's in stick form.

I use Rocky Mountain's lip butter everyday, so I'm excited to have it in a new flavour. This one is as expected, moisturizing, creamy and leaves no aftertaste. It really helps restore my dry lips. And if you're in Canada around this time of year you need Rocky Mountain Soap Co.'s lip butter in your life.

The soap may seem small, but I've had this size from Rocky before and it lasts long enough to get your fill of the delicious scent. The soap lathers nicely and doesn't dry out my skin. It smells even better once the hot water helps bring out the scent. Plus have you seen this soap? It's so beautiful, with a lovely red ribbon of colour weaving through it.

Vanilla Candy Cane Cake Box

Vanilla Candy Cane is a festive scent that is limited release, but from what I can tell it does come back every year during the holidays. I picked up some of this scent last year, so I have some of this left over. I have the full size body butter, lip butter, and lotion. I love it, and had to order more this year. This gift set comes with a mini body butter, a lip butter, a bath salt pouch and a half bar of soap. I think its an excellent gift, because you get a lot of different products to try out.

The Vanilla Candy Cane Cake box has a mini body butter, a lip butter, bath salt and a bar of soap. Again, I love sets like this where you can a bunch of different products to try out. I like Rocky Mountain Soap Co's bath salt. I've used the Vanilla Coconut one and wanted to try out the Vanilla Candy Cane one. I find the bath salts give a pretty subtle scent and they leave my skin feeling moisturized.

Vanilla Candy Cane is minty and refreshing yet sweet. I find the sweetness of vanilla keeps it from being too minty. I think this scent might be a great option for people who love mint and even people who aren't typically a fan of it. It's that perfect middle ground.

Now that lip butter you see in there... I love Rocky Mountain Soap Co.'s lip butter! I have the Vanilla Candy Cane flavour from last year. It's almost empty, so I'm glad I restocked! I find mint anything works great on the lips because it also makes your breath feel fresher.

As for the body butter I currently use the full size of the body butter in Vanilla Candy Cane everyday (also from last year) and I love that I now have this mini version for my bag. How cute is that? The body butter is super easy to apply because it's in stick form. Since it's a body butter it's pretty thick so it's nice to be able to apply it directly where you want without getting it on your hands if you don't want to get them greasy.

I like how the soap looks, I love the different colours that swirl through the bar. It has a lovely lather and does not dry my skin out. The mint is refreshing and tingles slightly on the skin.

Vanilla Candy Cane Haircare Travel Kit

I've always wanted to try Rocky Mountain Soap Co.'s Shampoo and Conditioner. They have some of the healthiest ingredients in their hair products I've seen. Definitely a great all-natural, toxin-free option that still performs the way I need it to. And this little gift set? I had to snatch it up. The bottles are great quality so I plan to refill them when they are empty and keep them for when I travel.

I know there is a lot of discussion out there about shampoo and many companies already offer sulfate-free options, but often they still leave in harsh synthetics and artificial fragrance. I am allergic to any kind of artificial fragrance and having that anywhere near my hair and face is not a good plan for me. But I want shampoo that smells great without worrying about if it's healthy or safe for me.

I was happy to see Rocky Mountain Soap Co. has a large selection of all-natural, toxin-free shampoos and conditioners in in scents like: Juicy Cherry, Rosemary Mint, Blossom Berry and of course Vanilla Coconut. The Vanilla Coconut Shampoo and Conditioner both smell like what I can best describe as vanilla pudding. It makes my shower smell amazing. It foams up nicely, but if this is your first time using sulfate-free shampoo, you will notice a difference in how much it foams up. But, you will notice it doesn't strip your hair and leave it dry and tangled. This shampoo left my hair lightly scented and I was able to style my hair as usual with no fuss.

The ingredients are worth checking out. The shampoo has apple cider vinegar which makes your hair shiny! The conditioner had coconut oil which is great to add moisture into your hair.
