Schmidt's Deodorant | Bergamot Lime Deodorant Jar

I love this kind of story about a brand: starting from her kitchen, the owner Jaime created something that was so effective that everyone heard about it and wanted to experience it for themselves. On the website people rave about how this product changed their life. Yes people, we're talking about deodorant! More specifically Schmidt's Deodorant in its unconventional, beautiful jar.

I've heard about it so much I had to get a hold of it. I currently have two jars, one half empty and a full one waiting in the wings. Go ahead and throw your current deodorant out now and go buy this one.

I really wanted to have a quote from Schmidt's Deodorant's founder, Jaime Schmidt because she sums up the topic of deodorant perfectly: "Conventional deodorants have been around for over a century now, and are loaded with chemicals that don't belong on our bodies, especially an area as sensitive as the underarms. It is clear that we've been doing it wrong all these years. This is why I declared it Schmidt's mission to change the way people think about deodorant--I knew there had to be a better way! Research and testing led me to the discovery that the right combination of raw natural materials in their purest form could yield a product that not only matches the effectiveness of the chemical alternatives, but actually outperforms them."

If I'm being completely honest I first bought this product because of it's scent. The scent is unbelievably good. It's possibly one of the best scents I've ever experienced. It smells like lemon gelato? Lemon meringue? It's  citrusy yet sweet and seriously makes me forget it's not food.

There's a reason Schmidt's Deodorant Jars have won an award! They live up to exactly what the brand claims. All-day odor protection and wetness relief with fast-absorbing, non-greasy, non-sticky feel. It's also free of aluminum, propylene glycol, parabens & phthalates; is certified Vegan and Cruelty-free and even Gluten-free! What can I say? The list still goes on: they also have sustainable packaging. Even more, Schmidt's Deodorant has a gorgeous website!

Don't fancy an unconventional jar deodorant? Then also check out the Bergamot Lime Stick Deodorant!

I apply it by scooping about a teaspoon worth out with the scoop that comes with the product. I usually apply it right after my shower when my skin is a little damp. It smoothes onto my skin easier this way.

If you know me, then you can guess another big draw to this product was how clean and natural the ingredients are. You would assume it must be if it excludes the long list from above, but take a look yourself:

Ingredients: Butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), Maranta arundinacea (arrowroot) powder, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, Citrus bergamia (bergamot) essential oil, Citrus aurantifolia (lime) essential oil, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Humulus lupulus (hop) extract

All in all I would (and already have) repurchase this product. I know to some it seems bizarre to smear cream on your pits, but it's worth it.

    1. Yay, I'm so glad you gave it a try! Terra20 also has travel sizes of this product in plastic containers (instead of glass) so they are super light. Enjoy this energizing scent!
