The Best Natural Citrus Scented Products: Part 02

Clearly I need to branch out. How did I end up with so many citrus scented products? If you didn't already see my post The Best Natural Citrus Products: Part 01, then go check it out. You don't want to miss out on any citrus goodness, now do you? Anyways, I'm sure it's clear that I adore lime, orange, tangerine, you name it! If it's bright, zesty and refreshing then it's got my name written all over it.

The first scrub I ever tried from Rocky Mountain Soap Co. was a limited edition holiday-themed sugar scrub in the delicious sugar plum scent. In a word: divine. The scrub was similar in formulation to Rocky’s other sugar scrubs. It was hands down the best scrub I had used, since it didn’t leave tons of oily residue the way scrubs tend to.

So when I saw that RMSC had a bamboo scrub that was a more salt-based scrub, I knew I was in for a treat! Something that stood out to me is that this scrub had bamboo powder, an ingredient that is also in Rocky Mountain Soap Co.’s Bamboo Brightening Face Polish (which I use regularly!). I figure if the face polish worked so well for me, it was time to give my body some loving too.

I love using scrubs on my thighs and legs after shaving, and this scrub didn’t sting my legs (unless I actually nicked myself while shaving) so I would say it’s not too harsh. It has shea butter and cornstarch in its formula which is meant to soothe the skin, and in my opinion, it must help to balance out the salt so the scrub remains soothing.

The scent is very refreshing and gets its “citrus mint” scent from grapefruit, orange, lemon balm, spearmint and peppermint. The only thing I found is that it does leave a more oily residue on the skin than RMSC sugar scrub does. While I prefer feeling less oily after showering, the truth is it does deliver great moisture and once it absorbed after initially feeling uncomfortable my skin did feel AH-mazing.

If you are the proud owner of any Meow Meow Tweet products then like me, you were probably caught up in the stunning packaging. I mean really, just look at it! Heck yes, I want to cart this lip balm around in my purse. I feel like a superstar when I apply it. Ready for my photo op, and so stylish that even my lip balm is fab. The lovable, “whimsical” illustrations are created by one of Meow Meow Tweet’s co-founders, Jeff.

But, as you quickly learn, Meow Meow Tweet is not just a pretty face. They live up to the hype with great quality products and are transparent about their ingredients so you know what you’re putting on your body (and in your body, because really, lip balm gets eaten by accident).

I bought this lip balm from well.ca and ordered the Vegan Lip Balm in Tangerine Lime and one in Unscented. My mom used the unscented one and said it felt thick on her lips and left an aftertaste. I didn’t have any issue with the Tangerine Lime one, I thought it felt good on the lips, but, I will say it does leave a bit of a taste in your mouth, but nothing super noticeable. Otherwise, it delivers moisture and feels very smooth once applied. It contains cocoa butter and olive and coconut oil, some of the best ingredients you can apply to your skin. I apply lip balm all day every day and every night so I go through tubes fast! Seriously, you got to keep your lips in top shape.

So you all probably already know of my love for this deodorant, since I did a review of the full size Schmidt’s Bergamot Lime Jar Deodorant. This little guy you see pictured here is the travel size, and it’s made of plastic so it’s perfect for travel since it's light and the container won’t break. So you guys can get delicious armpits wherever life takes you.

You really don’t need much of this product! Apply it sparingly,  a little goes a long way to neutralize odor. The travel size lasts longer than you might expect, so consider getting it even if you aren't traveling and just want to test the product out.

Schmidt’s Deodorant has a gorgeous website and I was surprised to see just how many positive reviews they get from people who have suffered from allergies. I didn’t realize deodorant was so hard for some people to use without having issues! So if you have ever struggled to find a deodorant that works for you, and you dislike conventional deodorants, then I’d say go for this. They also have the lovely formula in stick form.

Why is this here, you might ask? How is this citrus-themed? Let me tell you, this highlighter is infused with orange blossom and is probably one of the most citrusy of them all! It smells delicious (but is not overpowering), and it has real, edible gold leaf in it. How amazing is that?

I received this product in a Vegan Cuts box! I got a bunch of cool new products to try, and this one really stood out to me. I wasn't much for the whole highlighting trend, but this product changed my mind. It’s so subtle and easy to apply that it’s an obvious choice to have in your makeup bag. You can apply this anywhere, face, lips, body. Anything you want to highlight, Jersey Shore Cosmetics has got you covered. I love that it’s all-natural, I have found it hard to replace some of my conventional makeup when it comes to more specific things like highlighters.

It contains shea butter and argan oil, which glide onto the skin smoothly and evenly. The gold leaf really stands out to me, I’ve never used a product that had this as an ingredient, so I’m a little excited about that. I’m very fair and this product works great with my skin tone, but I could see this being universally flattering. Overall, I’ve never seen success with any highlighter I’ve tried, except this one. I’d recommend trying it out!
