URBAN FOREST SOAP CO. REVIEW | NATURAL DEAD SEA SALTS

Bath salts are water-soluble minerals that are added to baths for relaxation and health purposes, and are meant to mimic natural hot springs.

These Natural Dead Sea Salts from Urban Forest Soap Co. are the perfect way to bring some relaxation right into your home. Baths are one of the biggest ways to indulge in self-care, and with many scents to choose from, you can create your own spa experience!

Urban Forest Soap is proudly Canadian from Wakefield, Quebec since 1996. It was started by Trina, whose family suffered from various allergies and skin sensitivities. As is the case with many hand-made natural brands, she created her own products from scratch in her kitchen due to the lack of appropriate product offerings in stores to suit allergies.

Originally called "Brighid's Bard," the company was rebranded under the new name "Urban Forest Soap" in 2004. The lovely celtic spiral logo was retained in the rebrand because it represents the company's essence. All products are always earth-, animal- and skin-friendly -- you can indulge guilt free!

The scent I tried is Oatmeal Orange, which is refreshing, sweet and really helps enhance a normal bath. I like that these salts give you the benefits of aromatherapy without being overwhelming. The oatmeal will also help soothe the skin, while orange is anti-inflammatory.

Dead Sea Salts also go beyond just a spa experience, since they can enhance the health of your body by improving circulation, detoxifying, and healing skin ailments. These salts contain 21 minerals including magnesium, calcium, sulfur, bromide, iodine, sodium, zinc and potassium -- your skin will love you!

I take the extra step to use a mortar and pestle to crush the salts before I add them to the water. It helps bring the scent of the essential oils out more, and makes the salts even finer. You can certainly skip this step though, if you don't have these tools, as the salts still dissolve quickly and the warm water releases the scent.

Would love to try more of these! Next on my list is the ginger lime. If you like the scent of Oatmeal Orange, Urban Forest Soap Co. also has a natural bar of soap in the same scent. Read my review on their Natural Soaps here: Urban Forest Co. Review - Soap Sampler Set.

  2. Conventional deodorants are often stored in aerosol canisters - the metal of which is often not recyclable. PrimitiveOutpost
